FALL 2007 ProductionsThe Country Wife - by: William Wycherley
October 12, 13, 18, 19, & 20, 2007
Bistline Theatre - 7:30pm - Reserved Seating
This classic Restoration comedy of marriage and social commentary (1675) by William Wycherly is still as recognizable and valid today as it was over 300 years ago - a hilarious examination of the gap between appearance and reality. Jack Horner, a notorious womanizer, aided by a doctor named Quack, hatches a plan to convince the whole of London Society that he has become a harmless "has-been" who no longer poses any threat to the wives, sisters and daughters of the "respectable" men of the Town, in order to get closer to the society women undetected. His plan is successful until Margery Pinchwife, the newly-wed wife of jealous Mr. Pinchwife, is spotted and pursued by Horner. Margery seems innocent of the sophisticated ways of city life, but soon learns how to use it to her advantage as Mr. Pinchwife frantically tries to keep his young wife from Horner's clutches and Horner's own plot begins to unravel.

Lost in Yonkers by: Neil Simon
December 7, 8, 13, 14, & 15, 2007
Rogers Black Box Theatre - 7:30pm - General Admission
Lost in Yonkers is set during WWII but the play's main themes-survival, the importance of one's family, and acceptance-also seem timely, since these ideas inevitably arise during any war or other military conflict when death and other tragedies are likely. Although the play is technically labled a comedy, it is in fact a hybrid. Critics note both the deep levels of pain that Simon explores in his characters and the humorous dialogue from certain characters, which ultimately helps the play to strike a balance between tragedy and comedy.

If it was murder, where's the body? If it was a woman, which woman? If it's only a game, why the blood? The play is set in the Wiltshire, England manor house of Andrew Wyke, an immensely successful mystery writer. The home reflects his obsession with the inventions and deceptions of fiction and his fascination with games and game-playing. He lures his wife's lover, Milo Trindle, to the house and convinces him to stage a robbery of her jewelry, a proposal that sets off a chain of events that leaves the audience trying to decipher where Wyke's imagination ends and reality begins.
