How to Transcript Tech Prep Credits

  • Students who have registered for Tech Prep and successfully completed an approved Tech Prep Course at a participating high school will be sent an application to transcript college credit for that course. If you did not receive an application to transcript college credit, you may send a written request for credit to the Tech Prep Office with your official high school transcript. For more information, please contact the Tech Prep Office at 208-282-3941.
  • Successful completion requires that the student has received a grade of B- or better (80%).
  • If you are under 18, your parent must sign the application on the bottom of the page.
  • The application is specifically intended for transcripting Tech Prep credit, and is required even if you have already applied for admission or are a dual credit student.

There is a $15 per credit transcription fee. You may transcript approved classes with a grade of B- or better. Check your grades. Use the Log-In Assistant if you don't remember your user name and password. Idaho State University transcripts credit for classes with a percentage grade of 80% or better. A list of approved Tech Prep Classes at your high school is available.

Once you have returned your Application for Transcripted Credit, the Office of the Registrar staff will verify grades, and then will add the classes to an official college transcript. You have up to two years from graduation to request the credit; however it is recommended that each student transcripts the credit when grades are posted. You will not be able to transcript college credit after two years.

Please keep in mind that transcripting credit with Idaho State University does not guarantee university admission or acceptance into certain classes or programs. Make sure you are aware of the admission requirements of the specific program you wish to enter. Some programs at ISU have limited enrollment or a selective admissions process. You can find that information in the Idaho State University catalog or online. If you have questions about programs at ISU, you may also call an advisor at 208-282-2622.

If you decide to attend another college, contact that college for information regarding their policy on accepting transfer credits. It is up to the receiving school to decide if the credits will be applied to your program requirements or as electives. There is an additional step to take to have your official transcript sent to another college. After you submit an application to ISU and the credits are transcripted, you may order an official ISU transcript to be sent to the college or university of your choice. Official transcripts may be ordered by visiting http://transcripts.isu.edu/
