Applicants to the Idaho State University College of Technology are required to submit COMPASS or ACT test scores.

High school students wishing to take the COMPASS should check with their counselor to schedule a time for testing. Registered Tech Prep students can take the COMPASS test for free through their high school.

ISU College of Technology strongly encourages students to practice their math and English skills prior to taking the COMPASS. Repeating the test is permitted following a two-week period.

The learning lab through the Adult Success Center located on the top floor of the Roy F. Christensen Complex (ISU Bldg. 48) may be utilized for preparatory study. You are allowed to in the learning lab free of charge. The hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Monday and Thursday evenings.
