Student Success Center

Could I be a math tutor?

The Math Center maintains a staff of 15-20 consultants between our Pocatello and Idaho Falls campuses, and our consultants include undergraduate and graduate students from several disciplines.

Math Center Tutors are hired each semester to work between two and fifteen hours a week. Scheduling is based on individual tutor availability and program needs.

One or more positions may become available in Fall 2010. These positions are filled competitively, but all applicants should have at least sophomore standing, a minimum 3.5 GPA, and a B+ or better in either

Once hired, math tutors will complete the CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certification requirements by attending Content Area Tutoring Workshops and Math Tutor Training Sessions. Two levels of certification are available.

If you are interested in becoming a math tutor, please fill out the form found here and return it to the math center with a copy of your transcript.
