Midterm Relief!

Overly stressed over your mid terms? Perhaps you need to stop in to the Craft Shop and release some pent up tension by creating something. Do some clay hand building, make a hemp bracelet, tie dye a shirt, sew something, or work in the woodshop. You might want to sign up for one of our non-credit classes. No stress here! Come see us on the bottom floor of the Student Union Building.

Going Green

In an attempt to be even greener than we already are, we have made the decision to decrease not only our paper use, but also our printing budget. As of January 1, 2008, you will find our class schedules online at http://www.isu.edu/stunion/craftshop or you will be sent a schedule via email through our NEW LISTSERV. If you aren't familiar with a listserv, it is a handy way for us to tell a whole lot of people about what's new, what's happening, and how you can be involved. If you aren't already on our list, please sign up now.

Who We Are

The Craft Shop is located on the lower level of Idaho State University's Pond Student Union Building. It was established for students and the community to learn the necessary skills to create their own crafts and projects. There are experienced staff and student employees available to familiarize you with the facilities in the Craft Shop, and assist you in the design and creation of your next craft project.

What We Can Offer You

You will be pleased with the wide variety of equipment that you have access to. Work centers include a wood shop, clay studio, and a darkroom. Other areas are set up for sewing, mat cutting for photos, dry mounting, paper cutting, working with fibers or leather and bicycle repair. We have an extensive list of available equipment for crafts, and a small sales area with tools for ceramics, fabrics, webbing, jewelry making supplies, weaving yarns, and much more that you may find helpful in completing your project.

Learn New Skills

In addition to working areas and supplies for projects,we also offer workshops for those interested in learning from local artists and craftpeople who have been teaching workshops at the Craft Shop for years. Most of the classes and workshops are available for adults, but we do offer workshops specially designed for children (8 years and up).
If you are interested in being on our mailing list and receiving a calendar of our workshops and classes for the semester, give us a call and we can mail one out to you. Our calendar provides a brief description of each class or workshop and the details of dates, times, cost, etc.

Location:

The Craft Shop is located on the lower level of the Pond Student Union Building. Head down the hallway past the Transition Gallery and the Games Center. It's the last door on the left.
