Division of Student Affairs

Mission Statement

The Division of Student Affairs at Idaho State University exists to support and mentor students in attaining their educational goals, to enhance and deepen the learning experiences of students, and to provide - through collaboration, consultation, and direct service - expertise that serves the needs of the university community. In these ways, we further the institution's fulfillment of its mission and goals.

We live out this mission by creating and maintaining rich learning environments in and out of the classroom, by identifying and reducing unnecessary barriers to student success, by providing students ample opportunity to become intellectually and socially integrated into the life of the university, and by being responsive to student needs and desires while maintaining high expectations and standards. Further, the Division works to cultivate a campus climate marked by civility and respect for persons, one in which diverse ideas and perspectives can be critically engaged and considered.

We reflect on our mission by systematically and imaginatively examining the effectiveness and relevance of our programs and services, adapting them in light of new information, research, and professional judgment.

The Office of Student Affairs houses the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Associate Dean of Students and the University Student Conduct Officer. They are available to assist students with various problems, which might be encountered during the college experience. The offices and departments listed on this site exist to serve ISU students.
