Arthur C. Vailas, Ph.D. - President of Idaho State University
Welcome to Idaho State University! The students of ISU are our first priority.
I encourage you, as a student of this University, to take advantage of the total college experience. Participate in the many classes, programs, campus events and student organizations available to you. Become engaged! It will enhance your educational experience.
You will find the committed staff, creative faculty members, and promising student leaders eager to assist you. Please do not hesitate to ask for help when questions arise. I hope this handbook will be a useful guide in understanding university policies and services.
Donald L. Paulson, Ph.D. - Acting Dean of Students
The experience of being a University student is both challenging and rewarding. At Idaho State University our faculty and staff are strongly committed to helping you master the challenges while enjoying the rewards. I echo President Vailas’ advice to “become engaged” and all of us in Student Affairs will do all we can to help you do so.
To do this, I especially encourage you to find your “niche;” find an organization, group, or activity which can meet your needs and help you make the transition to being a successful ISU student. Most importantly, when you encounter difficulties or challenges seek advice and help. Whether that comes from myself, a faculty member, or another staff member from Student Affairs, tell us what your concerns are and how we can help. We, in turn, commit to assisting you as honestly and as quickly as possible.
So, welcome to ISU for the 2010-2011 year. I hope your year will bring you the success you are seeking.
