Lee Krehbiel, Ph.D. - Interim Vice President for Student Affairs

Welcome to Idaho State University! You have wonderful things in store for you at ISU. The range of expertise and knowledge possessed by our faculty is remarkable. They are prepared to help and challenge you to think well, to address complex challenges in society and in particular fields, and to contribute in myriad ways to Idaho and the world. In addition, our staff is highly skilled and stands ready to advise, to offer learning experiences of many types, and to provide services that help you function at high levels while you are a student.

Our University offers tremendous opportunities that range from involvement in undergraduate research to exploring the magnificent Idaho wilderness first hand. Sometimes multiple opportunities are dovetailed into one activity. The array of musical performances, dramatic productions, student-led activities, and leadership opportunities is just short of endless. Plan a little and take advantage of these opportunities to learn, grow and stretch your minds and your emotions. Eventually you will lead or perform or research in the same kinds of endeavors.

Students who are actively engaged on their campuses tend to have a better experience and to be more satisfied. Even if you are a commuter student with many other obligations, I urge you to selectively choose to involve yourself on campus. Employers value that type of involvement. It also complements your classroom learning, and it is often a source of great joy and newfound energy.

Our Vice President for Student Affairs’ Office is a good place to start if you ever have difficulty negotiating the campus. We don’t have every answer, and we don’t promise you’ll always like the ones we do have, but we do promise that we’ll listen, we’ll work hard to find the right place on campus to address your issue, and we’ll offer our best counsel and advice. Our staff members have many years of experience in successfully working with students, and it is our goal to help you understand the campus and get connected to the resources you need.

We look forward to serving you and learning alongside you.
