Congratulations to Sean Sherrard who was awarded the National Association of Sport and Physical Education (an association of AAHPERD) Major of the Year. He was selected as the ISU Sport Science and Physical Education Department's NASPE Major of the Year for the Outdoor Education emphasis. He was chosen for this honor based on his history of strong scholarship, service to the department and community, and professional promise. Sean will be nationally recognized at this year's annual AAHPERD conference to be held in Boston, MA March 13th-17th.


Veteran's Sanctuary

Mr. Philip A. Clifton Sr. is going to be on Campus at the Veteran's Sanctuary every other Wednesday afternoon beginning Feb 1st. Times will be from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM.

Student Health Center Charitable Gift Opportunities

Ice Machine

A gift of $500 will purchase an ice machine which would be used to ice patient injuries as well as provide ice chips to ill student patients.

Patient Education Hand-outs

A gift of $500 will purchase patient education hand-outs to student patients.

Exam Table

A gift of $1,600 will purchase an exam table which would be utilized to exam our student patients.

Diagnostic Set (otoscope, ophthalmoscope, blood pressure)

A gift of $1,300 will purchase this equipment for taking and monitoring vital signs on student patients.

Computers and Printers

A gift of $8,000 will upgrade existing computers and printers used with our practice management software, which manages student’s patient accounts and assists with check-in at the clinic.

CR Radiography System

A gift of $40,000 will allow purchase and implementation of a CR X-ray System. This system would provide decreased radiation exposure to student patients, enhanced images of student patients, reduction in silver and chemical utilization, and transmittal of images for off-site review, interpretation, and consultation. All of which would benefit the student patient.

Electronic Medical Record

A gift of $60,000 or more will provide the Student Health Center with EMR (electronic medical record) capabilities. This system provides physicians and mid-level providers real time interconnectivity with nurses and auxiliary departments. Patient care will be better coordinated. An enhanced record system will be in place as well.
