A gift of $25 will purchase educational videos, books, other materials.

Who Benefits: Individuals using the Anderson Center library; Attendees at Anderson Center video screening events; Anderson Center staff who are invited to give presentations, which sometimes include video clips, in academic classes.

NWSA Membership

A gift of $250 will pay for a one year membership in the National Women's Studies Association, home of the Women's Center Committee, our professional association.

Who Benefits: The ISU community benefits through our access to current best practices in the area of women's centers.

Conference Attendance

A gift of $1000 will fund attendance at a national conference for an Anderson Center employee or student.

Who Benefits: The ISU community benefits through our ability to put into action those best practices learned about at the conference.

New Laptop

A gift of $1,500 will purchase a new laptop for educational presentations to First Year Seminar (FYS) classes, etc.

Who Benefits: Anderson Center staff who will then have updated equipment on which to work; students in classes where we give presentations

Printing for Advocacy Brochures

A gift of $2,000 will cover printing costs for brochures for our advocacy program.

Who Benefits: As these brochures are distributed at various events, including FYS presentations, New Student Orientation, New Employee Orientation and others, and are also included in resource display racks in key offices like Counseling and Testing, Student Health and the Dean's Office, they reach a significant portion of the ISU community. Everyone in the community benefits the more people are aware that there is an on-campus office to assist victims of sexual and domestic violence.

Annual Conference Underwriting

A gift of $3,000 per year will fund underwriting for the annual Art of Gender in Everyday Life conference. Alternatively, a one-time gift of $60,000 would ensure that the conference will continue to take place on an annual basis.

Who Benefits: All members of the ISU community. This annual conference, first held in 2004, was established to encourage ISU students to undertake gender-related research and to provide a supportive environment in which to present their results. ISU faculty and staff with limited travel budgets have also been able add a professional conference presentation to their CVs. The conference has always been announced more broadly, however, than just on campus, and more than half of our participants come from locations outside of Idaho. This influx of scholars from across the country, and even beyond US, enlivens our discussion of current gender issues.

Named Paper Prize

A gift of $3,000 will allow us to name in your honor the $150 student paper prize awarded each year to the outstanding student paper from the Art of Gender in Everyday Life conference.

Who Benefits: The student who wins this prize is able to list that honor on his/her CV. Additionally, as the paper prize is announced in the annual call for papers (CFP) for the conference, all those who read the CFP will know of your support.

Stipend for a Visiting Scholar

A gift of $10,000-15,000 per year will fund a small stipend to attract a visiting scholar. The Anderson Center welcomed its first international scholar in residence Dalia Marcinkeviciene, Ph.D. from Vilnius University in Lithuania, during the 2005-06 academic year. Dr. Marcinkeviciene was fortunate in that her stay was funded through her receipt of a grant from the American Association of University Women, but the number of such grants is limited. Many scholars, especially those from economically disadvantaged countries, cannot consider being in residence at the Anderson Center without funding. A gift of $200,000 or more would allow for us to name the stipend in your honor and ensure that the visiting scholar program would continue on an annual basis.

Who Benefits: The scholar, the entire ISU community and those beyond would benefit. For example, during Dr. Marcinkeviciene's stay, she was able to do the following: complete articles that would enhance her publication record for consideration for promotion to full professor; teach courses for ISU students; and give presentations both at ISU and in the Pocatello community about the lives of women in contemporary and Soviet Lithuania, the latter being her area of research as a historian.

Graduate Student Assistantship

A gift of $16,000 per year will fund a violence education and prevention graduate assistantship. Alternatively, a one-time gift of $325,000 or more would allow us to name the assistantship in your honor.

Who Benefits: The graduate assistant gains valuable advocacy and prevention experience. ISU students gain an additional half-time advocate to respond to and educate about sexual and domestic violence.

A House for the Anderson Center

A gift of $152,000 and up will purchase a freestanding house in the University neighborhood for the Anderson Center.

Who Benefits: On many campuses, women's centers are located in their own house. A separate, distinct location helps to solidify the center's identity as well as provide a “home” and safe space on campus for students involved with the center.
