Constitution of the

    Preamble

    We, the members of the Snowboarding Club and Team of Idaho State University, do hereby constitute ourselves an organization subject to the following provisions.

    Article I

    Name

    This organization shall be known as the Idaho State University Snowboarding Club and Team. Our production title is "ISU Snowboarding".

    Article II

    Purpose

    Section I

    To discuss, adopt, and carry out procedures necessary for the general welfare of snowboarding sport and members of the club. To instill the principles of brotherhood/sisterhood among the snowboarding community in general. To organize with the Associated Students of Idaho State University, other area winter sports, and the United States Snowboard Association.

    Section II

    To promote the sport’s up and coming riders by providing coaching and other services to our members and affiliated members.

    Section III

    To serve as a vehicle of communication among snowboarders, the university, and surrounding community. To serve as the vehicle to enable all snowboarders on campus to act together for the good of the club, team, Idaho State University, and surrounding community.

    Section IV

    To serve in a public relations capacity and to further snowboarding within the college and surrounding communities.

    Article III

    Membership

    Section I Club Members

    Membership in the ISU Snowboarding Club is open to any registered student and employed faculty/staff person of Idaho State University with an interest to snowboard. This organization will not deny membership to any person on the basis of race, age, religion, sex, physical/mental handicap, color, marital status, national origin, language or creed.

    Section II Affiliated Members

    Any person with an interest to snowboard, and has paid dues.

    Section III Qualifying Factors and Rights of Voting Membership

      1. The voting members of the ISU Snowboarding Club shall consist of any general member as outlined above who have paid current dues (in the amount of $20 minimum-$50 maximum per semester).
      2. Voting members will have the right to vote on any motion, issue, or election.
      3. Each voting member will have only one vote.
      4. Voting member will have the right to be nominated and/or run for any project head and /or executive position. Only voting members may hold, through the normal voting procedures, executive and /or project head positions.
      5. Executive officers will retain all voting privileges.

    Article IV

    Government

    Section I Meetings

      1. Members of the ISU Snowboarding club shall meet once weekly during the winter season (November- May) and once a month when Idaho State University is in session.
      2. Official Club meetings can be conducted by any executive officer.
      3. Club voting on any motion, issue, or election can not take place unless the club President or Vice President is present also with a simple majority of voting members.

    Section II Meeting Procedure

      1. Parliamentary Procedure will be used by the ISU Snowboarding Club when called for by any general member.
      2. Club meeting agenda will include,
      1. Roll call of officers
      2. Reading of the minutes
      3. Old business
      4. New business
      5. Adjournment

    Section III Attendance

    Thirty percent (30%) of the voting members constitutes a quorum. Fifty one percent (51%) of a quorum is necessary to as any issue.

    Article V

    Administration

    Section I Executive Officer Requirements

    Only full time, officially registered students who are voting members of the ISU Snowboarding Club, carrying a minimum of eight credits and holding a 2.0 GPA shall be eligible to serve as elected or appointed officers.

    Section II Duties of Executive Board Officers

      1. To preside at all meetings held by the ISU Snowboarding Club.
      2. To enforce the constitution, by-laws, and other regulations of the ISU Snowboarding Club.
      3. To recommend to the ISU Snowboarding Club for dismissal of any member in conflict with any constitutional provision.
      4. To inform the secretary of all information which is associated with, and pertaining to the clubs function.

    Section III Executive officers Duties

      1. President:
      1. To coordinate all elements of the organization ensuring that all-organizational functions are in ensemble.
      2. To fulfill any duties usually associated with this office, not specifically mentioned in this Constitution.
      3. To call special meetings.
      1. Vice President:
      1. To preside in the absence of the president.
      2. To assist any officer in their duties apron request.
      3. To act as the communicator between the officers and all members.
      1. Secretary:
      1. To keep a permanent record of all ideas and activities of the ISU Snowboarding Club
      2. To insure distribution of mail or phone calls to each member.
      3. To keep an accurate and complete roster of all voting members.
      1. Treasurer:
      1. To keep an accurate record of all financial transactions of the ISU Snowboarding Club
      2. To deposit and withdraw any and all funds from the ISU Snowboarding Club account.
      3. To execute the appropriate process in order to request and obtain funds from ASISU.
      4. To execute the appropriate process to allocate Club funds

    Section IV Officer Attendance

    Executive officers are required to attend all regularly scheduled meetings. If an officer misses two meetings, a worning will be issued; if a third meeting is missed, the individual will be subject to removal as determined by a 2/3 majo rity vote of the executive board, and voting membership.

    Article V

    Elections

    Section I Nominations

      1. During the first ISU Snowboarding Club Meeting of March, the president will accept volunteers for nimination from the voting membership.
      2. All candidates must be active members in good standing not in default of any club duties.
      3. Newly elected officers shall take office one month after elections.

    Section II Elections

      1. The election of shall be held at a will publicized meeting, one week after nominations.
      2. Elections will be held by a public show of hands. A plurality vote for each postion is required.

    Article VI

    Finances

    Section I

    The Treasure will be responsible for the collection/distribution of funds. Major expenditures ($100 or more) will be authorized by a 2/3 vote of the membership. Minor expenditures will be autherized by the president. All expenditures shall require the signature of one executive officer.

    Article VII

    Advisor

    Section I

    The advisor shall be a full-time member of the faculty or a full-time professional employee of ISU. Advisors are responsible for the overseeing any activities of the ISU Snowboarding Club. An Advisor can be recommended for removal by the o fficers for any reason deemed appropriate.

    Article VIII

    Examination Clause

    Financial records of the Idaho State University Snowboarding Club are subject to an examination at any time by the ASISU business manager and the advisor.

    Article IX

    Amendments

    Any primary member of the Idaho State University Snowboarding Club may sponsor any amendment. The amendment must be Approved by a 2/3 majority vote of the members present. The proposed amendment is not ratified until approved by the ASISU.
