THE KASISKA FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP AT IDAHO STATE UNIVERSITY

Purpose of the awards:

To assist long-term Idaho residents with direct educational costs in a health-focused vocational-technical or academic program of study at Idaho State University.  Direct educational costs are defined as fees plus books/supplies (tools, uniforms and other educational materials as required by the program of study).  Entering freshman, reentry or continuing students and transfer vocational technical, undergraduate and graduate students may be considered for the scholarships.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

1.  Trust funds given to a college for scholarship use must be awarded during the     academic year for which they are given.  Fiscal year funds awarded may include summer school disbursements.  Funds allocated to a college/school will be allocated to departments at the discretion of the Dean, provided the funds are used only as scholarships for health-related majors.

2.  A recipient must be a full-time student (undergraduates-minimum of 12 credit hours; graduates-minimum of 9 credit hours; vo-tech full-time credits may differ) and a declared major or pre-major in a health-related program of study, although enrollment in the Kasiska College of Health Professions is not a requirement.  Priority will be given in annual proposals to funding requests providing scholarships for 1) speech pathology and audiology, 2) other students enrolled in the Kasiska College of Health Professions, 3) pharmacy, 4) LPN and dental lab technology students in the College of Technology, and 5) students in other health-related majors (i.e., sociology, reading disabilities, dietetics, biological sciences).  Recipients who change their major course of study to a non-health focus area not included in this scholarship will be ineligible to retain the award.
