Scholarships — Division of Health Sciences

Any Major; Graduate Student Bartlome/Ikenberry Memorial - Designed to promote research in the Health Professions at ISU through supplemental funding for grants to be administered by the College of Health Professions Research Committee. Selection of candidates and recipients will be determined through a competition. Must be a graduate student in the College of Health Professions.
Audiology Majors George F. & Betty T. Brockett - Scholarships awarded to full-time upper division undergraduate Audiology majors, with secondary preference given to Graduate students. Special consideration shall be given to students with financial need who show extra promise of contributing to Audiology. Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa required. Recipients must be U. S. or Canadian residents.
Dental Hygiene Majors Gordon J. Christensen, Errol K. Ormond, & Gregory E. Romriell - Recipients must be enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program at ISU. Must demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Idaho. First preference will be given to a student who graduated from a Pocatello high school.
Dental Hygiene Majors

Gretchen Hess - For undergraduate or graduate students seeking professional advancement opportunities in the Dental Hygiene program. Awarded through faculty recommendation.

Dental Hygiene Majors David F. McCune Memorial - Preference to Juniors or Seniors who are accepted into the Dental Hygiene program who have dental assisting experience and financial need.
Dental Hygiene Dr. Richard & Lucy Meek – Student must be accepted in to the ISU Dental Hygiene program. The award may be used for instruments, supplies or regional boards. If awarded to a Junior, that student may apply for renewal for senior year. Preference given to a single parent with children or a married student. Recipient must be a resident of Idaho. Award may be based on need as well as academic performance.
Dental Hygiene Majors Shelley Simpson Memorial - One scholarship awarded annually to a student majoring in Dental Hygiene.
Dietetics Majors Jeannette Rowe Memorial - Awarded to Juniors majoring in Dietetics with a minimum 2.0 cumulative gpa who are members of Phi Upsilon Omicron (Phi U).
Health Professions Majors Health Education and Leadership Program (H.E.L.P.) – Awarded to students who are majoring in a Health Professions major. Must demonstrate financial need. Preference given to Health Professions who plan to practice in the Treasure Valley (Boise Area). Requires 2 letters of recommendation: 1 from an educator and 1 from a business or professional associate.
Health Professions; Non-Trad Nursing Ted C. Springer Memorial - Recipients should demonstrate motivation, academic potential, and/or leadership potential. Students involvement with professional organizations will be considered. Should be Junior, Senior or graduate students in the field of Health Related Professions at ISU. Preference given to nontraditional nursing majors. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Health Sciences Majors Albert M. Johnson - Awarded to students in the college of Health Sciences.
Health Sciences Majors Albertson's Foundation, Division of Health Sciences - Variable amounts awarded to students majoring in the College of Health Sciences with at least a 2.5 GPA, financial need & academic promise. The intention is to help students whose ultimate goal is to serve children in school (address in statement).
Health Science Majors Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Auxiliary - Awards provided to any student in the Division of Health Sciences.  Award shall be given based on academic merit and financial need.
Health Sciences Majors IHC/PRMC - Annual award made to a Health Sciences major who demonstrates motivation, academic achievement, & leadership potential. Preference given to applicants who express, in writing, an intent to work at one of the IHC facilities following graduation. Must be U.S. citizen. Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa required.
Health Sciences Majors PMC Health Care Foundation - Scholarship for students in the health care related professions.
Health Sciences Majors Rural Education Access - Scholarship for students wishing to enroll in the Idaho Rural Scholarship Program at the Institute of Rural Health.

Nursing Majors Helen V. and Robert L. Beckley - Scholarship award given to Nursing majors (accepted into the program) in their Junior or Senior year. Recipients must be full-time students. Must demonstrate financial need.
Nursing Majors Vivian & Wayne Crozier Memorial - Annual award made to an ISU nursing student who demonstrates an active interest in politics. Must be an Idaho Resident.
Nursing Majors Barbara B. Harman - Awarded to undergraduate or graduate students seeking a degree in Nursing. Must be full-time.
Nursing Majors Roberta "Bobbie" Stanton Hyde PHD, R.N. Scholarship - Must be a part-time student enrolled in the A.D./Diploma to Baccalaureate RN program who is not receiving tuition reimbursement from their employer.
Nursing Majors Eeanor Loscalzo Nursing - Renewable scholarship awarded to Nursing majors with minimum 2.5 cumulative gpas.
Nursing Majors Ruby G. McKinnon Memorial - Scholarship awarded to a student accepted into the Nursing program who is an Idaho resident with preference to students from a small town.
Nursing Majors Jacqueline McRoberts Nursing - Student must be accepted into the School of Nursing and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be an Idaho Resident and a US Resident.
Nursing Majors Rose Ainsworth Pyrah Nursing - Annual award made to an undergraduate or graduate Nursing student who demonstrates motivation, academic potential, & financial need. Applicants may be part-time students.
Nursing Majors Ellen Raether/Blackfoot Sr. Citizens - Annual award given to undergraduate or graduate Nursing students who demonstrate financial need. Graduate students may be part-time. Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa required.
Nursing Majors Ted C. Springer Memorial - Annual award to students who have been accepted into the Nursing program & demonstrate financial need. Preference given to non-traditional students. Minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa required.
Nursing Majors Barbara Tallmadge Nursing - Annual award given to a female, minority, Nursing student who is a U. S. Citizen.
Nursing Majors Richard & Anne Thatcher - Award shall be given to students enrolled in the Nursing Program. Award will be based on academic merit and financial need.
Nursing Majors Mee C. Woo Nursing - Award given to a student enrolled full-time and accepted into the Nursing Program at ISU.
Nursing Majors; Graduate Diana McLaughlin Graduate Scholarship - Awarded based on academic merit. Must be enrolled under the Nursing Education Option and shall be expected to maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Preference shall be given to a student who has practiced as an RN for at least 5 years. Must be a Graduate student.
Nursing Majors, Minority Student Belma Truchot Colter - Annual award made to a Junior or Senior Nursing major with a minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa. Preference to minority students with first preference to Shoshone-Bannock students, preferably from Fort Hall. Consideration will be given to financial need, motivation, leadership, & academic potential.
Nursing Majors; Minority Student Spencer W. Kimball – Designed to provide financial assistance to a minority student accepted into the School of Nursing. Preference will be given to a Native American student, especially one interested in progressing to become a Nurse Practitioner. May be received after the first year up until the completion of an undergraduate degree providing adequate progress is maintained.
Nursing; Protestant or Catholic Caroyn Overstreet Nursing - Awarded to students enrolled in the Nursing Department at ISU. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and must be of Protestant or Catholic Faiths.
Occupational Therapy Majors Arthur "A.J." P. Lloyd, Jr. - Annual award given to a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa.
Pharmacy Majors Michael Edward Araki-Kawaguchi - Renewable scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy Major with a minimum 2.8 cumulative gpa. Preference to students who have aspirations of owing an independent pharmacy.
Pharmacy Majors Asian American College of Pharmacy Alumni - Scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy Major of Chinese ancestry. Second preference to any Asian heritage. Third preference to any student based upon merit and need.
Pharmacy Majors Judith Marie Bernat - One scholarship awarded to a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Pharmacy major. Applicants must be able to demonstrate leadership & academic potential. Minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa with a 3.0 gpa for the previous semester is required.
Pharmacy Majors Lane Alan Broyles - Scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy Major with a minimum 2.8 cumulative gpa, who is an Idaho Resident.
Pharmacy Majors Neal Atlee Broyles Jr. - Scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy Major with a minimum 2.8 cumulative gpa and who has been an Idaho Resident for at least ten years. Preference to a student who excelled in Math and Chemistry during their Pre-Pharmacy course work.
Pharmacy Majors Joseph W. Carlson - Renewable award for married Pharmacy students who have a minimum 2.75 cumulative gpa.
Pharmacy Major W.B. & W.H. Carte - Awardee must be an undergraduate who demonstrates motivation, academic and leadership potential. Preference will be given to a student who is an athlete.
Pharmacy Major Dr. Glenn W. Corbett – Awarded to first-year students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to professionalism. Recipient must be full-time and maintain a 2.0 GPA.
Pharmacy Majors Frank P. Cosgrove Pharmacy - One or more scholarships awarded annually to a third or fourth year professional students in the Doctor of Pharmacy program who exhibit financial need, academic excellence & a sense of professionalism through extracurricular activities.
Pharmacy Majors Robert L. & W.H. "Bill" Dixon Memorial - One scholarship awarded annually to a student enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
Pharmacy Majors Harold W. & Lois Austin Drive Pharmacy Fellowship - Recipients shall be enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program at the P4 level who are completing their clinical rotation out of the area. Preference given to students who are married. Second preference is given to the student demonstrating the greatest financial need. All recipients shall be English speaking citizens of the United States.
Pharmacy Majors E, I, AND J Memorial - One scholarship awarded annually to a full-time student enrolled in the Pharmacy Program who demonstrates financial need. Must be a U. S. citizen & an Idaho resident having graduated from an Idaho High School.
Pharmacy Majors Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary Pharmacy - Annual award made to a student who has been accepted into the Pharmacy program. Preference given to graduates of Bonneville, Hillcrest, Idaho Falls, or Skyline High Schools.
Pharmacy Majors Dr. Robert & Janice Goettsch - Award made to a Pharmacy major, who demonstrates financial need, with a minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa and has been an Idaho resident for three years.
Pharmacy Majors W. Robert Hepworth - Award made to a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year professional Pharmacy student. Award may be renewable. Recipient shall exhibit commitment to excellence in the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required by a pharmacist dedicated to exemplary patient care. Additional criteria for selection are a sense of professionalism through leadership and involvement in the student branches of professional pharmacy associations and extracurricular activities and demonstrated financial need.
Pharmacy Majors Colonel Garth H. Holmes - One scholarship awarded annually to a student enrolled in the first year Pharmacy Program who demonstrates financial need. Must be an Idaho resident.
Pharmacy Majors John and Virginia Kanarr Memorial - Awards shall assist female students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy professional degree program. Renewable as long as a minimum 2.75 GPA is maintained.
Pharmacy Majors Lucille H. Kingsbury Memorial - Scholarship awarded annually to Pharmacy majors.
Pharmacy Majors Gordon R. Klodt Memorial - Scholarship award to 2nd, 3rd or 4th year professional students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Award based on need, academic excellence, extra-curricular activities, & commitment to professionalism.
Pharmacy Majors Sylvan L. Kuhn - Scholarships awarded to Pharmacy majors.
Pharmacy Majors Eleanor Loscalzo, College of Pharmacy - Renewable scholarship awarded to Pharmacy majors with a minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa. Contact major department for more information.
Pharmacy Majors Jeanette Low Memorial - Scholarship awarded annually to students majoring in Pharmacy.
Pharmacy Majors Mark and Rachel Mailhot - Award shall be used to provide an annual award to a student enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program as a 1st or 2nd year student. Students must demonstrate financial need and have a GPA no greater than 3.3. Preference given to 2nd year students.
Pharmacy Majors Mary Gunderson Moss - Scholarship awarded annually to a full-time married student enrolled in the professional degree program. May be renewable. Must have a minimum gpa of 2.75 for Pharmacy coursework. Must be an Idaho resident having graduated from an Idaho High School.
Pharmacy Majors George T. Murray Memorial - Award made to a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year professional Pharmacy student. Award may be renewable. The criteria for selection are academic excellence, a sense of professionalism through leadership and involvement in the student branches of professional pharmacy associations and/or civic leadership or participation,and demonstrated financial need.
Pharmacy Majors Angela Osterman Memorial - Award made to a P2 or P3 level students in the College of Pharmacy. The award shall assist students who demonstrate financial need, who are residents of Idaho and who graduated from an Idaho high school. The student should demonstrate commitment to and a passion for the pharmacy profession, as well as an interest in community pharmacy. Preference shall be given to qualified students suffering from a personal hardship or loss.
Pharmacy Majors Past Presidents Idaho State Pharmacy Association - Preference will be given to P1 or P2 students with minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa who graduated from an Idaho high school.
Pharmacy Majors Ara G. & Shirley Paul - Preference will be given to Pharmacy majors who are single parents. Financial need and academic performance will be considered.
Pharmacy Majors Pharmacy General - Several scholarships for Pharmacy majors. Awards are based on academic merit & financial need.
Pharmacy Majors Michael T. & Robyn K. Prime - Scholarships awarded to annually to students majoring in Pharmacy.
Pharmacy Majors Pullen-Grey Pharmacy - Recipients must demonstrate motivation and academic potential and have a minimum 2.0 cumulative gpa.
Pharmacy Majors A.D. & Irene S. Rounds - Bi-annual award that will assist students entering their P2 or P3 level in the College of Pharmacy professional degree program.
Pharmacy Majors Frank L. Savage - Scholarships awarded annually to students majoring in Pharmacy.
Pharmacy Majors Fredric E. Schwamb - Renewable Scholarship awarded to a Pharmacy major who demonstrates financial need. Awards shall assist married students with a baccalaureate degree who have returned to school after being out of school for a period of time.
Pharmacy Majors Sidney L. & Hetty H. Sly - Awarded to a Doctor of Pharmacy major with a cumulative gpa no greater than 3.8.
Pharmacy Majors Ralph and Betty Smith -Award will assist 3rd or 4th year students enrolled in the College of Pharmacy professional degree program. The students must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA for Pharmacy coursework.
Pharmacy Majors William G. Story Memorial - Award made to a professional Pharmacy student from the Treasure Valley area to include the counties of Ada and Canyon. Award may be renewable provided the student maintains a minimum 2.75 gpa for Pharmacy coursework.
Pharmacy Majors Roy R. & Linda Sumida - Award made to students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
Pharmacy Majors Bolujo F. Tunrarebi Memorial - Award for African students in the College of Pharmacy who have maintained a minimum 2.5 cumulative gpa.
Pharmacy Majors Lawrence W. & Debra L. Updyke - Award made to a professional Pharmacy student who demonstrates financial need and who is attempting to fund their education with resources of their own, perhaps because assistance from friends or family is not available or possible. As an alternative, the award shall be made to a student with Type 1 diabetes. Award may be renewable.
Pharmacy Majors Guy Curts Waid Memorial - Awarded to student enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Preference to Idaho residents. Minimum 2.80 cumulative gpa required.
Pharmacy Majors Richard & Barbara Wells - Scholarship awarded to students in their third or fourth year of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa required.
Pharmacy Majors Rosemary Sampson Wells Memorial - Award made to a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year female professional Pharmacy student who is an Idaho resident and is involved in the student branches of professional pharmacy associations. Award may be renewable. The criteria for selection are academic excellence, a sense of professionalism through leadership and involvement in professional organizations and extracurricular activities, and demonstrated financial need.
Physical Therapy Major PT & Ballard/Kimberly Clark Rehabilitation Science Endowment - Recipients shall be student majoring in Physical Therapy at ISU.May be any class level.
Physical Therapy Majors Physical Therapy - Annual award given to a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa.

and Hearing Audiology Majors
Ambus Scholars – Scholarships awarded to Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Hearing Audiology students in their junior/senior year in a bachelor’s degree program, or a graduate program leading to a master’s or doctoral degree. Assistant Programs are not eligible. Awards are based on financial need, US citizenship, commitment to local community, demonstrated academic accomplishment, character for compassion and integrity, and career objectives. Physician's Assistant, School Counseling, or Nursing Majors Crystal and Clark Allen Family - Annual award given to a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student with a minimum 2.75 cumulative gpa who plans to practice in Southeast Idaho (Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Bonneville, Caribou, Franklin, Power, Madison, or Oneida counties) upon graduation. Preference to Idaho residents. Must submit an essay (100 words or less) stating how their future plans will impact the people of Southeastern Idaho.
Pre-Med Douglas & Joy Heiner - A scholarship awarded to a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student preparing for medical school with a minimum 3.5 cumulative gpa. It is renewable for up to two additional years.
Radiographic Science Majors

ASRT Education and Research Foundation - Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited radiological science program. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, specifically in the radiological science curriculum. Must be a U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident. Recipients must finish their radiological science degree or certificate program after Sept. 1 of the year in which applications are due.

Radiographic Science Majors Radiographic Science - Scholarships awarded to students majoring in Radiographic Science who demonstrate motivation, academic & leadership potential as well as clinical ability.
Therapeutic Services or Speech Pathology, Jr./Sr. American Business Clubs - Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1500. Awards are for Junior or Senior Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology. Must be a U.S. citizen.
