SFC Zann R. Larson

I enlisted in 1981 and served with HOW BTRY 116th ACR Idaho Army National Guard. I did my Basic Training and AIT at Fort Sill Oklahoma and graduated with the MOS of 13B Cannon Crewman. In 1989 the unit changed to BTRY A 1-148th FA BN. I served as an M-Day soldier until July 1990 and then accepted a full time AGR position with Btry A 1-148th FA. From July 1990 to October 2001 I worked as a Cannon Crewman, Howitzer Section Chief, and Gunnery Sergeant. I then transferred to HHB 1-148th FA and worked as the Battalion Master Gunner until the unit was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III; at which point I transferred and deployed with Btry A 1-148th FA and served as a Platoon Sergeant for the next 16 months at FOB Gaines Mill, Kirkuk, Iraq. After re-deployment from Iraq in November of 2005, I was assigned once again to HHB 1-148th FA as the Battalion Master Gunner. In January of 2007 I transferred to my current position as Associate Professor of Military Science/MS III instructor at Idaho State University ROTC.

I am married to Noelle, my awesome wife of 23 years. We have four kids; Alicia and Chelsy who are married and out of the house. Haley and Zachary who are still at home. We all ride motorcycles and four wheelers and enjoy anything outdoors.
