How to Ride the Bus
ISU Parking Services and Pocatello Regional Transit provide a free bus system from the north end of the Holt Arena parking lot. The buses stop at prime areas throughout campus with a 3 to 5 minute turn around time.
Bus drivers are friendly and willing to assist those who are new to campus, especially first time visitors who are not familiar with campus.
How to Ride the Bus
There are three buses that run Monday through Friday (during
the regular school year). Service begins at 7:30 a.m.
for the first bus, and ends at 5:45 p.m. for the last
bus. A fourth (4th) bus is added on Monday, Wednesday
and Friday and runs until noon. Turn around time is 3 to
5 minutes. Other bus stops are shown on the map, and
each building is numbered for quick identification.
Buses stop at scheduled stops only. Bus service is
reduced during finals week.
The Housing bus route runs from Schubert Heights to the Student Union Building. The Housing route bus service begins at 7:35 am and ends at 5:00 pm every weekday. The Housing route runs once every hour.
To leave the bus, pull the cord that runs above the windows on each side of the bus.
Bus Stops
There are 3-4 buses and 7 stops on campus. These stops are:
- Memorial Drive at Life Sciences (turn around)
- Martin Luther King at RFC
- Martin Luther King at the Library
- 8th Street and Martin Luther King
- 8th Street at the Administration Building
- 8th Street at the Pond Student Union Building (turn around)
- (1 bus from the Pond SUB to Schubert Heights once per hour)
Express Bus Route
During the regular school year, an express bus will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday (PRT may change this to Monday thru Friday if there is enough demand) from the 8th Street and Martin Luther King Stop to the bus stop in front of Gale Life Sciences (Bldg. 65), ending at Holt Arena (it makes no other stops). It will run once per hour, 10 minutes before classes begin.
Walking Distances in Minutes
Average walking speed is 2.5 minutes for every 600 feet, 7-8 minutes for 1800 feet.

Safety Escorts
The Department of Public Safety offers a safety escort
service throughout the evening and night time hours. If you
miss the last bus, call 282-2515 for a ride back to your
vehicle.
