Section LOGISTICS SUPPORT

 

FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION
checkbox Remain calm.
checkbox Turn on your cellular phone.
checkbox If situation warrants evacuation of your building, coordinate evacuation with Public Safety. See Section 8.2 of the Emergency Response Plan on Evacuation Procedures.  Do not go to the incident site.
checkbox If your office or building is not affected, go to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) (If unable to report to EOC, call Dispatch at 208-282-2515.) Check in with the Logistics Coordinator.
checkbox Determine the needs of the EOC staff and field staff.
checkbox Coordinate with Procurement Officer to obtain and arrange for delivery and distribution of the needed resources.
checkbox Provide information and recommendations to the Planning Coordinator.
checkbox Take an inventory of ISU vehicle resources and fuel supplies.
checkbox Be prepared to provide transportation, resources as requested. Be sure to include a licensed driver with buses and trucks.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
checkbox Provide for support for the EOC.
checkbox Arrange for the use of ISU transportation vehicles and drivers.

 

SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
checkbox Compile personnel information for FEMA Documentation.
checkbox Assist with the deactivation process.

 

TRANSPORTATION
The following action may/will be taken under any major emergency affecting the campus:
checkbox Determine status and location of all campus owned vehicles and drivers.
checkbox Determine status of fuel storage pumps and determine if they are operable, if not proceed to make necessary repairs, supply emergency power, etc.
checkbox Determine spare parts inventory and establish repair schedule for damaged vehicles.
checkbox Stage all available vehicles at a designated location.
checkbox Determine probable requirement for vehicle use during the anticipated duration of the emergency.
checkbox When directed by EOC, request additional transportation resources as necessary through city, county, or private rental agencies.
checkbox When directed by EOC, request through city, county, or private concerns heavy-duty equipment as necessary, e.g.: earth movers, forklifts, tractor trailers, cranes.
checkbox Provide equipment operators as needed.
checkbox Have the Facility Officer arrange building for operations, place signs, etc.
checkbox Dispatch vehicles and equipment as requested the EOC. Ensure the Finance Coordinator is aware of any direct arrangements made with off campus vehicle and/or equipment providers.
