Section LOGISTICS SUPPORT

 

FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION
checkbox Remain calm.
checkbox Turn on your cellular phone.
checkbox If situation warrants evacuation of your building, coordinate evacuation with Public Safety. See Section 8.2 of the Emergency Response Plan on Evacuation Procedures.  Do not go to the incident site.
checkbox If your office or building is not affected, go to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) (If unable to report to EOC, call Dispatch at 208-282-2515.) Check in with the Logistics Coordinator.
checkbox Provide information and recommendations to the Planning Coordinator for facilities and locations (playing fields, parking lots) that can be used for emergency operations.
checkbox Coordinate with the EOC to determine the facility needs of the campus.
checkbox Set up any emergency operations facilities, as requested. These might include:
  checkboxAn alternate Emergency Operations Center
  checkboxFirst Aid station
  checkboxAn alternate Communications dispatch center
  checkboxAssembly locations for evacuations
  checkboxRest areas for emergency workers
checkbox Coordinate with Building and Utilities Officer to verify sites are safe for occupancy.
checkbox Assists Food Services Officer with establishing temporary campus rest areas and shelter sites as needed. Provide information on available locations.
checkbox Provide information and recommendations to the Planning Coordinator for the After Action Report.
checkbox Coordinate with the EOC to determine if there is an anticipated need for temporary shelter to be provided at the site. Normally, ISU is not a designated emergency shelter site therefore; it will not be used for a community shelter.
checkbox Check with the Incident Commander for sheltering requests. Remember that if the Red Cross selects ISU for shelter use, they are responsible for all shelter support.
checkbox If shelter needs are anticipated, make arrangements for the resources, beginning with contacting the Red Cross. It is expected these resources will only be needed on a short-term basis, as every effort will be made to remove everyone to more suitable sites.
checkbox Provide temporary lodging and other support for responding outside agencies and others as requested by the Incident Commander.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
checkbox Assist with finding temporary facilities.
checkbox Set up and maintain emergency facilities.

 

SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
checkbox Assist Food Services Coordinator with establishing temporary campus rest areas and shelter sites as needed.

 

ADDITIONAL ITEMS TO CONSIDER
checkbox Security and access control:
  checkboxPerimeter security needs and resources for night operations.
  checkboxWill the campus become a reception point for outside victims?
checkbox Extended operations:
  Some incidents could extend for several hours or days. The Facility Officer must determine continued availability of staff and resources and arrange for replacements.
