FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION
checkbox Remain calm.
checkbox Turn on your cellular phone.
checkbox If situation warrants evacuation of your building, coordinate evacuation with Public Safety. See Section 8.2 of the Emergency Response Plan on Evacuation Procedures.  Do not go to the incident site.
checkbox If your office or building is not affected, report to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). (If unable to report to EOC, call Dispatch at 208-282-2515). Check in with the Planning Coordinator.
checkbox Install and set up status boards, maps and other displays. Collect information from all available sources and post it for easy access and interpretation, keeping the displays current and updated as new information is received.
checkbox Quickly collect Priority 1 information necessary to determine operational problems and immediate needs of the victims:
  checkboxType of emergency (e.g., fire, earthquake, air crash)
  checkboxLocation of emergency
  checkboxTypes of facilities involved (student housing, classrooms, etc.)
  checkboxSize of area involved (limited area or campuswide)
  checkboxIncident Command Post location
  checkboxStaging Area locations
  checkboxAccess routes for emergency vehicles
  checkboxAssistance required (e.g., medical, fire, Facility Services, EHS)
  checkboxNumber and type of casualties/injuries
checkbox Identify inconsistencies or information that obviously are not correct.
checkbox Refer to the appropriate EOC section to verify and clear up any problems.
checkbox Refrain from posting information until it is verified.
checkbox Maintain the EOC Activity/Master Log. (Record major events, situation reports, major decisions, etc.)
checkbox Provide copies to the Incident Commander and other EOC staff as needed.
checkbox Evaluate information and disseminate it to EOC staff, assisting with periodic briefings.
checkbox Provide information to Structural Damage Assessment for use in compiling damage cost estimates.
checkbox Evaluate information and disseminate it to EOC staff, assisting with periodic briefings.
checkbox Provide information to Structural Damage Assessment for use in compiling damage cost estimates.
checkbox Assist the Public Information Officer by providing and verifying information and assisting with rumor control.
checkbox Monitor radio and television broadcasts for information that is of importance to SDSU operations, including:

  checkboxTransportation routes status
  checkboxLocal sheltering sites
  checkboxReports from other Idaho university/college campuses
  checkboxMajor Activities from the City and County
checkbox Take pictures of status boards at regular intervals as a record keeping measure to track the progress of operations.
checkbox Provide information, recommendations, and assistance to the Planning Coordinator for the After Action Report.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
checkbox Collect, verify and process all information and intelligence.
checkbox Evaluate and disseminate information throughout the EOC. Monitor radio and television for information.
checkbox Maintain the current status of all ISU buildings, facilities, and operations.
checkbox Post and maintain status boards and other EOC displays.
checkbox Identify inconsistencies and verify information for accuracy.

 

SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
checkbox Assist the Public Information Officer with information verification, rumor control, and event posting.
checkbox Assist the Operations Coordinator with keeping track of field operations, staff, numbers and the progress of building inspections.

 

ADDITIONAL ITEMS TO CONSIDER

  checkboxWhat is the extent of casualties, injuries, and damage? What is the extent of the damage to the surrounding local community?
checkbox Campus closure:
  checkboxWill the incident require the closure of campus? How long will the campus be closed? What information will students, faculty and staff need?
