Position PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER ON DUTY & DISPATCH SUPERVISOR
Section OPERATIONS SUPPORT

 

FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION
checkbox Remain calm.
checkbox Turn on your cellular phone.
checkbox If situation warrants evacuation of your building, coordinate evacuation with Public Safety. See Section 8.2 of the Emergency Response Plan on Evacuation Procedures.  Do not go to the incident site.
checkbox If your office or building is not affected, go to the EOC. (If unable to report ot EOC, Call Dispatch at 208-282-2515).  Make contact with Operations Coordinator with a list of team members and obtain equipment and assignments.
checkbox Immediately assess the communication capabilities (telephone, radio, CCTV, computer networks, etc.) and set up the emergency communications system.
checkbox Initiate priority notifications:
  checkboxIncident Commander
  checkboxKey emergency managers and administrators
  checkboxAdditional Public Safety staff
checkbox Establish a priority communication network with any Field Command Post that has been established.
checkbox Develop an Action Plan for operation of the Communication Center. The plan should have contingencies for:
  checkboxSeparating radio operations and telephone operations.
  checkboxMaintaining status boards of staging areas, medical operations, and evacuation assembly sites.
  checkboxTracking the use of radio equipment.
  checkboxLong-term operations.
checkbox Receive and forward to the Logistics Coordinator information such as notifications, warnings, and other communications.
checkbox Assist with staff recall, as needed.
checkbox When advised, establish and maintain communications with other agencies, as appropriate, beginning with the Operational Area EOC (county).
checkbox Assign and distribute communications equipment, as available.
checkbox Assist departments and organizations with communications, as possible.
checkbox Provide information and recommendations to the Planning Coordinator for the After Action Report.
checkbox Estimate the duration of the response and develop plans for replacing human and physical resources.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
checkbox Serve as the central point for receiving and sending communications.
checkbox Assist with staff recall.
checkbox Assess communication capabilities and make recommendations.
checkbox Assign and distribute communications equipment.
checkbox Provide the EOC with communications, including runners, and establish communication links with other agencies.

 

SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
checkbox Assist the campus with communications.
