- Friday, September 28, 2007, at 2 p.m. — Health Education Building Grand Opening – President Vailas attended the opening of the new Health Education Building, a joint ISU-Eastern Idaho Technical College facility, in Idaho Falls on the EITC campus.
- Tuesday, September 25, 2007 — Fall Student Assembly – President Vailas met with students to answer their questions and discuss important issues with them in the Planetarium of the Rendezvous Complex.
- Tuesday, September 25, 2007 — "ISU in Motion" Radio Show Taping – President Vailas taped the first program of the fall semester of "ISU in Motion," a radio show hosted by the president to inform the community and promote the University's programs and people. President Vailas interviewed Professor Jeffrey Rosentreter and Moises Moreno, a student in the chemistry program. Dr. Rosentreter has helped develop a new “real-time” method of detecting cyanide in drinking water and other water sources.
- Friday and Saturday, September 21-22, 2007 — Sports Hall of Fame Reception, Luncheon and Ceremony – President Vailas recognized the 2007 inductees of ISU's Sports Hall of Fame.

- Tuesday, August 28, 2007 — Ice Cream Social – President Vailas welcomed students to campus during a noon ice cream social on the Quad during the Week of Welcome.
- Sunday, August 26, 2007 — March through the Arch – President Vailas and Dr. Laura Vailas participated in the annual March through the Arch tradition, welcoming new students to campus as they symbolically entered campus by walking through Swanson Arch.

- Thursday, June 21, through Saturday, June 23, 2007 — Governor's Cup – President Vailas participated in this annual event designed to raise scholarships for Idaho's college students.
- Wednesday, June 20, 2007 — Grand Opening – President Vailas and Dr. Laura I. Vailas hosted a celebration of Idaho State University’s new health sciences education building (former Jabil building) in Meridian, Idaho, at 1303 E. Central Drive.
- Thursday, June 7, 2007 — Dialogue – President Vailas was the featured guest on Idaho Public Television’s “Dialogue.” President Vailas addressed numerous topics, including ISU’s statewide health-care mission, university research activity, and the importance of building strong community partnerships.

- Monday, April 30, 2007 — President's Spring General Assembly – President Vailas addressed faculty and staff in the Pond Student Union Building Ballroom. Members of the President's Cabinet also gave reports, updating ISU employees on the status of a variety of issues of interest on campus.
