Section XI. Services to Students

C. Centers for Health and Counseling Services

The Student Health Center and Counseling and Testing Center offer the following to the campus community:

1. Student Health Center

a. Comprehensive medical staff who treat illnesses, medical conditions, diseases, or injuries.

b. Consultations for health-related concerns such as nutrition, eating disorders, sexually-transmitted diseases, family planning, gynecology, etc.

c. X-rays and clinical laboratory work available at reduced rates.

d. Low-cost prescription drugs as well as over- the-counter medications at reduced costs for both full and part-time students.

e. Office calls free to full-time students (8 credit hours), no appointment necessary. Part-time students and spouses of full-time students may use medical services for a clinic fee.

2.Counseling and Testing Center

a. Counseling (personal, crisis, marriage, relationship) for full-time students, staff and faculty. Student, staff, and faculty spouses may be seen for marriage counseling only. Referrals available.

b. Career counseling is available to everyone— students and non-students. A career resource library, career interest inventories, and a computerized career information system are utilized during the career counseling process. A fee is charged for career testing.

c. Administration of national and local testing programs including: GRE, LSAT, MAT, MCAT, ACT, GED, CLEP, PPST, NTE, and ISU proficiency tests. Arrangements can be made for administration of other tests.

d. Consultation available to individual faculty or administrators and to departments of the University.

e. Practicum and internship training for graduate students in Counselor Education and Psychology.

f. Credit Courses Career and Life Planning Stress Management Self-Fulfilling Behavior

g. Non-Credit Workshops/Groups—some open, some reserved for Counseling Center clients—on an arranged basis.
