Part 4. Personnel Policies
Section VII. Miscellaneous
G. Book Sales to Students
In order to fulfill the University’s obligation to collect and pay sales tax, all sales of books and educational materials on campus must be through the University Bookstore or through a vendor approved by the University.
Although instructors are not required to order books and educational materials through the University Bookstore, lists for such materials must be provided to the University Bookstore in order to accommodate students using specialized vouchers.
Textbook selection shall remain the responsibility of the faculty member. Allegations of conflict of interest related to book sales should be taken to the faculty member(s) in question. If a mutually agreeable settlement cannot be reached, the person making the allegation should proceed to the chairperson of the faculty member’s department, and then to the dean of the college.
