C. Modifications to University Buildings

Modifications to any electrical, mechanical, or structural part of any University building or any building leased to the University must be made under the supervision of the Director of the Physical Plant.

Staff, faculty, department heads, or deans who identify projects and intend to use self-help labor rather than contract the work from the University shop, must have written approval from the Director of the Physical Plant prior to beginning the project. This approval is necessary to assure that all regulatory codes have been complied with.

Electrical work of any kind must be done by a licensed electrician provided by the Physical Plant, or maintenance craftsmen under supervision of the electrician.

For the proper care of the buildings and for the safety of all concerned this policy must be strictly followed.
