B. Institutional Roles and Missions

The Idaho statutes establish and prescribe a legal role and mission of each institution under the governance of the Board. The Board is responsible for the establishment and approval of clarifying statements of role and mission for its institutions and agencies which reflect the scope of and the purposes and services of each institution. The Board may periodically direct an institution to review its previously approved role and mission statement and submit any recommended changes to the Board for review, modification, and action. Each institution and agency must incorporate the Board approved role and mission statement into appropriate documents. The Role and Mission Statement of Idaho State University is found in Part I of this Handbook.
