Goal 1
Continued Quality Improvement of the Learning Environment for the Didactic and Clinical Years

2012-2013 AY progress toward this goal:

  • Hired Sextant Group Consulting to develop new facility specifications to address audio and visual needs of the classrooms.

2013 - 2014 AY progress toward this goal:

  • Pocatello campus: Continue to identify new classroom facility on Pocatello campus in which to incorporate Sextant Group's recommended classroom specifications.
  • Meridian campus: New classroom incorporating Sextant Group's recommended classroom specifications and also new offices planned for construction summer 2014, to be finished spring semester 2015.
  • Caldwell campus: Construction and renovation of new PA facility on College of Idaho campus incorporating Sextant Group's recommended classroom specifications.

Goal 2
Assure Continued Viability of PA Program

2012-2013 AY progress toward this goal:

  • Admissions Viability: File score for 2012-2013 admissions cycle was 4.80 which exceeded the file score of 4.65 for the 2011-2012 admissions cycle.
  • Increased participation in recruitment activities by participating in two PAEA sponsored CareerEco Virtual Fairs and two in-person recruitment fairs (BYU-I & ISU).
  • Faculty & Staff Viability: All faculty attend PA conferences at the local, state or national level. All faculty maintain NCCPA certification and are clinically active.
  • Program Accreditation: ARC-PA approved expansion to third campus, Caldwell, Idaho.
  • Insured Clinical Site Stability: Developed Twin Falls, Idaho, track system to train three students for all rotations.

2013 - 2014 AY progress toward this goal:

  • Admissions Viability: File score for 2013-2014 admissions cycle was 4.77 which was less than the file score of 4.80 for the 2012-2013 admissions cycle.
  • Continued participation in four recruitment activities (two PAEA sponsored CareerEco Virtual Fairs and two in person).
  • Faculty & Staff Viability: All faculty attend PA conferences at the local, state or national level. All faculty maintain NCCPA certification and are clinically active.
  • Program Accreditation: Program to submit full Accreditation Application by June 28, 2014, for scheduled ARC-PA site visit in October 2014.
  • Insured Clinical Site Stability: Implemented track system in Twin Falls, Developed Treasure Valley area track system to train twelve students for all eight rotations to be implemented 2015-2016.

Create an Environment of Inquiry for Faculty, Staff and Students

Expand PAS Presence; Locally, Regionally, Nationally and Internationally

2012-2013 AY progress toward this goal:

  • The program publishes a quarterly newsletter (beginning spring 2012) that is electronically delivered to current students, alumni, preceptors, and other constituents.
  • One faculty, four students, and one alumnae participated in the Idaho Condor medical mission to Peru.

2013 - 2014 AY progress toward this goal:

  • The program continues publication of a quarterly electronic newsletter.
  • 75% of faculty participate in supervising students in service learning activities.
  • One faculty, one student, and four alumni participated in the Idaho Condor medical mission to Peru.
  • Establishment of a new medical mission: Four faculty travelled to the Dominican Republic in conjunction with the G3 Foundation to provide medical and dental care.

Goal 5
Expand Physician Assistant Graduate and Post Graduate Programs

2012-2013 AY progress toward this goal:

  • The Emergency Medicine Post Graduate Residency program was postponed.
