Beginning Windsurfing

Course Description:
Beginning Windsurfing introduces the student to the basic skills and theory, which are fundamental to the sport.  It covers safety, equipment, clothing, recognition of weather patters and basic sailing techniques.

Class Dates, Times and Itinerary:

First Class: 7:00 p.m. in the Pond Student Union (class room to be determined)
   Introduction:  Lecture and Video

Second Class: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Dry Land Simulation; American Falls Marina
   12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Simulation and Sailing

Third Class: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sailing, Sailing, Sailing

Grading:
 Grades will be based on attendance, participation and the take home written exam.
**Please note:  You must attend all scheduled class session in order to receive a passing grade in the class.

Additional Fee:  Fee covers instruction, windsurfer rental and wetsuits.
Students:  Paid with registration.
Student guests:  Needs to be paid before the first day of class to hold your spot

Additional Equipment:
We encourage you to bring your own wetsuit and lifejacket if you have one.  Neoprene booties are highly recommended and can be rented at the Wilderness Equipment Rental Center or at H & H Dive.
