I am a senior in the Idaho State University School of Nursing. I have attended Idaho State University since fall of 2008, when I moved from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Pocatello to go to school. Outside of nursing I am completing a Spanish minor as well as a thesis project regarding access to healthcare in the University Honors Program. I volunteer for the Pocatello Free Clinic. In past years my volunteer experiences have included the Pocatello Homeless Stand Down, Idaho State University Homecoming Parade and University of New Mexico Hospital. I work at Portneuf Medical Center as a CNA and a Unit Clerk on a variety of floors and actively participate in shared governance for the Medical and Surgical Floors. Outside of school and work, I play racquetball with the Idaho State University club team. In past years, I was president of the Idaho State University Chess Club. Since coming to Idaho, I have learned to love the outdoors including all the rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking opportunities that this spectacular area provides. I feel that I have had an exceptional experience at Idaho State University in the School of Nursing and am excited about moving forward and entering the professional world. Thank you to everyone that has supported me on this journey.
