Information for Authors
Courses are authored and presented by experienced clinicians who are knowledgeable, degreed, licensed, and/or certified in their areas of expertise. Rural nursing classes are taught by experienced rural nurses. Prospective authors interested in developing a Professional Development course for ISU-OPD may email us with inquiries. Please review the Author Qualifications below and then contact us. All proposed topics go through a committee review process that includes: a need assessment, development process, accreditation standardization, peer review. All information must be evidence-based. Authors will provide references for all information using the APA format and system. ISU_OPD used an involved peer review process.
Content developers can be healthcare practitioners and educators. They must possess a current license, completed an accredited nursing school, and may possess national professional certifications in their areas of expertise. Authors are to provide balanced, unbiased information. No conflict of interest is allowed with commercial interests. Registered nurse, allied health, and other healthcare practitioners must not have any disciplinary action in their organization or with state licensing boards. Nurses skilled in the subject with recent experience of at least one year in the last two years of practice are needed.
