About Us
Mission
The mission of the Idaho State University School of Nursing’s Office of Professional Development is to promote excellence in health care delivery through education that expands nursing expertise and enhances professional development.
The foundation of our mission is built upon respect for the value of collaboration with health care providers, professional organizations, and academic institutions to ensure congruence in assessment of education needs, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based learning opportunities. Collaborative processes are further emphasized as a catalyst to acting upon evaluation outcomes to ensure continuous program improvement.
Types of Activities
The mission is accomplished through the development and delivery of educational opportunities such as workshops, conferences, telehealth events, and web-based activities; utilizing media technologies.
Target Audience:
Educational activities are provided for health care professionals, primarily Registered Nurses and other nursing personnel. Interprofessional care delivery and collaborative teams are emphasized. Nurses who desire to improve care and to practice to the extent of their capabilities are provided new information and skills and competency validation.
Vision:
The vision of the SON-OPD is to be a leader in nursing continuing education through dynamic and innovative education activities.
