Profile

Kelly F. Pesnell, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is an assistant clinical professor at Idaho State University School of Nursing. She has served at the school for five years and teaches in the graduate family nurse practitioner program. Pesnell has a rural Idaho practice and provides family and bilingual (Spanish) healthcare services with emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention. Her research interests focus on rural populations and include health promotion, childhood obesity, migrant health, and mobile healthcare. She serves as a peer reviewer for The American Journal for Nurse Practitioners and The Online Journal of Rural Nursing and Healthcare. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Nurse Practitioners of Idaho, where she serves on the scholarship committee.
