Michael D. McCarthy, MS, MHS, RN is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Idaho State University School of Nursing. He has been a faculty member since 2007 and teaches in the Undergraduate program. Mike is a retired Army Nurse Corps officer and began his patient care activities as a Vietnam-era medic in the United States Air Force. His primary nursing focus has been in a variety of critical care arenas – Emergency, ICU, CCU, PACU and he teaches Perioperative clinicals in the Medical/Surgical courses. McCarthy possesses a keen interest in developing simulation into a primary learning tool for all levels of nursing students.
