How do I sign up for orientation?

Register for orientation through the website located at the registration tab. If you have a problem with online registration contact our office at 208-282-3451.

How much does orientation cost?

The cost of orientation is covered by the new student orientation fee paid by all new undergraduate and undergraduate transfer students.  The fee covers food, orientation materials and staff support.

Can I attend a different session from the one I registered for?

Yes!  You may change your session.  Contact The Office of New Student Orientation at 208-282-3451.

How long does the program last each day?

Each program has registration at 9:00am. The programs start at 9am and usually last until 4:30pm or 5pm depending upon the campus.

What if I can only attend for part of the day?

You are welcome to attend another orientation and make up what was missed.

Do I have to attend orientation at a particular campus?

There are multiple opportunities to attend orientation and students are encouraged to attend orientation at their respective ISU campus: Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Boise and Pocatello. As an example, if you are from Boise and are taking classes at the Pocatello campus, you should attend the Pocatello orientation.

Can my parents or family attend?

Yes. When registering, note the number of guests who wish to attend. In some cases, parents and family members will be offered specific tracks to help prepare them better support you in your transition to ISU. However, family who attend should expect to participate fully.

Is there a fee for my parents or family?

No.  Attendance costs are covered by the new student orientation fee.

Will parents and family be with students all day?

For the one-day sessions there will be times when parents, family and students are together and times when they are separated depending upon one’s particular interests.
