Homecoming 2012 began with a fantastic Kickoff celebration at Pinehurst Nursery in Pocatello on Thursday, September 27, 2012.  The Pocatello Chiefs and Benny the Bengal, got things started with a ribbon cutting, officially beginning alumni Homecoming activities for 2012.

“Traditions-Old and New” Homecoming theme 2012 highlighted the Alumni Board of Directors fall meeting September 28, 2012. Held in the Rendezvous Complex, the board heard from Interim Vice-President, Dr. Barbara Adamcik, Associate Vice-President and Director of Development, Scott Turner.  Additional reports were made by Matt Bloxham, ASISU President and Chris Kimball, ISU Ambassadors.  Board members enjoyed a “traditional” lunch at the Magnuson Alumni House, catered by Steve Piper, Owner of Buddy’s-an institution for many ISU alumni.  Dr. Herb Maschner provided a tour for board members of the Idaho Museum of Natural History. Retiring board members recognized for their service were Dr. Tom Curtis, Stephen Rhoads, Carisa Schultz, Kirk Shuler and Jayson Ronk. New board members welcomed were Julie Yzaguirre Moore, Becky Pond Kearns, Jean Lacy, Kebai Gamblin Bills and Dave Lowry.

Several very special alums were the highlight of the President’s Alumni Recognition Banquet. It was wonderful having these ISU greats back on campus along with their families and friends.

Coming up for ISU alumni will be the annual Legislative Reception, held in Boise and tentatively set for Thursday, January 24, 2013 at The Grove Hotel.  This event offers area alumni the opportunity to network with Idaho legislators and share input and ideas for support and growth of Idaho State University.  It is open to all ISU alumni.  The reception is hosted by the ISU Alumni Association and the ISU Office of Alumni Relations. The alumni board of directors will hold their winter board meeting the following day, Friday, January 25, 2013.

We invite all ISU alumni to stay connected to your alma mater by visiting our Pocatello Alumni website and our Meridian Alumni website and to become a fan on our Facebook page.  You can always find updated information on ISU activities and events and even connect with other alumni.  We welcome your input and stand ready to assist you in any way we can at the Office of Alumni Relations.
