The Department of Mathematics invites applications for undergraduate scholarships for the 2013-14 academic year,
offered through the
Robert D. Girse Fund, the
David and Stacey Jeppesen Fund and
the Waldemar J. Trjitzinsky Memorial Fund.
There will be 2 or 3 awards from the Jeppesen fund for $750-1125 each, and
the award from the Girse fund will be $600. The Waldemar J. Trjitzinsky Memorial fund provides $3000 to a needy student
with a declared math major.
Possessing other scholarships for Fall 2013 may restrict the
size of an award an applicant is eligible to receive. Applicants need not be
U. S. citizens or permanent residents.
Eligibility requirements for scholarships are:
- completion of MATH 170 or beyond
- 2.5 overall GPA
- 3.0 GPA in mathematics courses
- declared math major (Waldemar J. Trjitzinsky Memorial Fund only)
There may also be funding for advanced undergraduate students to do research with Math Department
faculty between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.
Applications for scholarships and undergraduate research are due April 29, 2013.
