Department of Special Collections and University Archives
The Intermountain West Collection
This collection of over 4,000 books is primarily a regional history resource collection covering Idaho and the bordering states. Subjects of regional interested, such as the Basques, Mormons, silver mining, Lewis & Clark, and the Oregon Trail are included even when they go beyond the regional boundaries.
The collection may be searched using the Library Catalog.
Also included in The Intermountain West Collection are a selection of maps and reprints of maps primarily covering portions of the Pacific Northwest, and the vertical file. The vertical file is a collection of pamphlets, newspaper and periodical clippings and other materials relating to Pocatello and Southeastern Idaho. These materials are not cataloged, but finding aids are available within the Department of Special Collections.
Materials in the Intermountain West Collection do not circulate.
