Dictionaries
The Dictionary of Feminist Theory (Reference Collection: HQ 1115. H 86 1995): This dictionary contains definitions of important
concepts, theories, and topics of interest in feminist theory and women's studies. There is a table of contents, but this book is not indexed.
Historical Dictionary of Feminism (Reference Collection: HQ 1115. B 65 2004): This dictionary focuses on feminist movements
around the world and contains definitions of important terms, concepts, and theories, along with brief articles on important figures in
feminism. This dictionary has a table of contents and an extensive bibliography, but it is not indexed.
Larousse Dictionary of Women (Reference Collection: HQ 1115. L 37 1996): This dictionary gives brief biographical sketches of
important women in history, politics, the arts, sports, and academia. This dictionary has a table of contents, by is not indexed.
Encyclopedias
The Greenwood Encyclopedia of Women's Issues Worldwide (Reference Collection: HQ 1115. G 74 2003): This six volume set contains
articles on the situation of women in different countries around the world. Each volume
has its own table of contents and index. A cumulative index can be found at the end of volume six. Volume one covers Asia and Oceania;
volume two covers Central and South America. Volume three covers Europe. Volume four covers the Middle East and North Africa; volume
five covers North America and the Caribbean. Volume six covers Sub-Saharan Africa.
Encyclopedia of Women and Gender (Reference Collection: HQ 1115. E 43 2001): This two volume encyclopedia focuses on women's
and gender issues in society around the world, including health, psychological, employment, and education issues, among others. Tables of
contents can be found in both volumes. A cumulative index can be found in volume two.
Women's Studies Encyclopedia (Reference Collection: HQ 1115. W 645 1989): This three part encyclopedia contains articles on
important concepts, theories, and terms in women's studies. Each volume contains its own table of contents and index, and covers a different
division of women's studies. Volume one covers the sciences, volume two literature and the arts, and volume three covers history, religion,
and philosophy.
Guides and Statistical Resources
A to Z of Women in the Visual Arts (Reference Collection: N 6505. K 59 2002): This guide contains extensive biographies of women in
the visual arts in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. This book contains a table of contents and is indexed.
A to Z of Women in World History (Reference Collection: CT 3202. K 84 2002): This guide to women in history gives brief biographies
on women in world history. Biographies are arranged according to topics, i.e. writers, artists, soldiers and political leaders, scholars, scientists,
business leaders, and so on. A table of contents and an index are available.
The Bloomsbury Guide to Women's Literature (Reference Collection: PN 471. B 57 1992): This guide is comprised of lengthy articles
on women writers from around the world and from ancient times to the present. Critical portraits of individual writers can be found in the
last two thirds of this guide. This volume has a table of contents, but is not indexed.
Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2006 (Reference Desk: C 3.134: 2006): This statistical abstract contains thousands of charts
detailing the demographics, economics, education, and more of the United States. Indexed.
Statistical Record of Women Worldwide (Reference Collection: HQ 1150. S 73 1991): This book is a collection of statistical tables showing
information about women and employment, education, population, health issues, politics and the law, and more. This book contains an extensive
list of tables, a bibliography, and two indexes.
Statistics Sources (Reference Desk: Z 7551. S 84): Organized topically, this guide to statistics resources points out thousands of different
places to find statistical information.

INFOMINE: INFOMINE is a special database that searches for Web site and documents that most
search engines miss, primarily Web pages and documents on university Web sites. This database is developed and maintained by the
Library of the University of California, Riverside.
Librarians' Internet Index: Collected and annotated by librarians, this site contains a searchable database
of high quality Web sites. To find a Web site, browse the available topics or use the search box.
Resources for Women's Studies: This list of online and print
resources, created by the Central Library at Vanderbilt University, lists hundreds of Web sites and books on topics in women's studies.
Women's Studies and Women's Issues Internet Resources: This directory
of Web sites was developed by staff at the Center for Women and Information Technology at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and
contains links to listservs (mailing lists), resources sites, women's studies programs, and more.
WSSLINKS Women and Gender Studies Web Sites: Created by the Women's Studies Section of
the Association of College & Research Libraries, this directory lists dozens of Web sites for Women's studies in a variety of topics: business,
film and culture, politics, science and technology, and more.
