Biographical Dictionary of Twentieth-Century Philosophers (Reference Collection: B 804. B 52 1996): This dictionary contains biographical and bibliographic information on more than 1,000 philosophers from around the world who lived all or part of their lives in the twentieth century.
Blackwell Dictionary of Western Philosophy (Reference Collection: B 41. B 79 2004): This dictionary defines important terms, concepts, and areas of debate in Western philosophy. Also included are brief biographical sketches of Western philosophers and thinkers.
Encyclopedia of Aesthetics (Reference Collection: BH 56. E 53 1998): This four volume encyclopedia defines and explains concepts, theories, and ideas in the study of aesthetics. Also included are brief biographies of philosophers and thinkers who contributed to this branch of philosophical inquiry. A cumulative index can be found in volume four.
Encyclopedia of Chinese Philosophy (Reference Collection: B 126. E 496 2003): This encyclopedia contains articles on Chinese philosophers and thinkers from ancient times through the twentieth century. Also included are seminal texts in Chinese thought, important concepts and ideas, religions, political theories, and more. This encyclopedia contains an index, a list of entries (in English and Chinese), and a chronology.
Encyclopedia of Classical Philosophy (Reference Collection: B 163. E 53 1997): This encyclopedia contains articles on important thinkers from Ancient Greece, Rome, and the first 500 years C.E., as well as schools of thought. Indexed.
Encyclopedia of Ethics (Reference Collection: BJ 63. E 45 2001): This three volume encyclopedia is comprised of articles on important theories, concepts and ideas in the study of ethics. Also included are biographical articles of philosophers and thinkers who have contributed to the study of ethics. A cumulative index can be found in volume three.
Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy (Reference Collection: B 51. R 68 1998): This ten volume set contains articles on people, ideas and concepts, schools of thought, and more. Each volume has a brief guide to using the encyclopedia and complete list of entries for the entire set. Volume 10 is a complete index for the set.
EpistemeLinks: Philosophy Resources on the Internet: Developed by a non-profit group, this Web site contains browsable lists of links to philosophy discussion boards, book locators, journals, organizations, and more.
INFOMINE: INFOMINE is a special database that searches for Web sites and documents that most search engines miss, primarily Web pages and documents on university Web sites. This database is developed and maintained by the Library of the University of California, Riverside.
The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy: Created by the University of Tennessee-Martin, this online encyclopedia contains lengthy articles on philosophers and thinkers, problems and concepts in philosophy, schools of thought and so on.

Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy: Created by the Metaphysics Research Lab at Stanford University, this encyclopedia covers philosophers, philosophical concepts, theories, aesthetics, ethics, and more. Some entries are not complete.
