To search for a specific journal, use the A-Z Journal List.
For books in the Spanish Language use the Library Catalog
- Click on the yellow "Go to Limits" button
- Select your language
- Location is another useful limit when looking for periodicals, or juvenile books
- Click on the "Set Limits" button
- Put a word in the search box that is relevant to your topic. If you are looking for anything, use the words like book, literature, story, history, science, periodical, magazine, newspaper.

Contemporary German Culture
Encyclopedia of Contemporary German Culture (Reference Collection: DD 290.26 E 53 1999): This encyclopedia contains articles on architecture, politics, music, education, film, literature, language, religion, society, and more, as they pertain to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Indexed.
Dictionaries
Etymologisches Wörterbuch der Deutschen Sprache (Reference Collection: PF 3580. K5 1989): This dictionary not only defines German words, but it also explains their origins and evolutions in the German language. This book is in German.
The Oxford-Duden German Dictionary: German-English, English-German (Reference Collection: PF 3640. O 94 1999): In addition to defining thousands of German words, this dictionary also provides notes on grammar and usage.
Literature
Encyclopedia of German Literature (Reference Collection: PT 91. E 53 2000): This two volume encyclopedia contains articles on German-language writers, their works, and important topics in the study of German literature. A comprehensive index can be found in the second volume.
Oxford Companion to German Literature (Reference Collection: PT 41.G 3 1997): This companion contains articles on German-language writers, their works, and important issues in the study of German literature.
Web Sites
German Language Resources: Maintained by Arts and Sciences staff at Harvard University, this streamlined site contains links to Web sites on German language and Literature.
German Resources: Created and maintained by staff at the Universität Karlsruhe (University of Karlsruhe), this index contains links to hundreds of sites on German language, history, culture, literature, and more. Many of the Web sites linked here are available only in German or default to German.
Internet Resources for German Language and Literature: This subject guide was created by the University of Delaware library and lists a number of Web sites about German language, literature, news, culture, and more.
