Dictionary of Economics (Reference Collection: HB61 .B554 1997): This dictionary defines economic terms and explains formulae and economic indicators and statistics. No index.
Great Economists Since Keynes (Reference Collection: HB76 .B55 1985): This resource contains brief biographies of important economists of the twentieth century. Also included are lists of selected critical works.
Oxford Encyclopedia of Economic History (Reference Collection: HC15 .O94 2003): This multi-volume encyclopedia contains in-depth discussions of important concepts in world economic history including agriculture, labor, industry, politics, consumption and more. An index can be found in the last volume.
Encyclopedias
Encyclopedia of Media and Politics (Reference Center: P 95.82 U 6 E 47 2007): This encyclopedia covers the interplay between mass media, journalism, and politics. Its articles cover important journalists and political figures and concepts like media bias, attack journalism, and news analysis. Indexed.
Handbooks and Guides
Economist Guide to Economic Indicators (Reference Collection: HA29 .E28 1997): This guide contains articles on how economic indicators (such as exchange rates, employment statistics, prices and wages, growth trends) are factored and used in economics. Indexed.
Guide to Everyday Economic Statistics (Reference Collection: HB137 .C57 2004): This guide contains articles on how key economic statistics (GNP, sales and rates, employment, trade deficits, etc.) are calculated and used in economics. Indexed.
Economic Indicators and Statistics
World Economy: Historical Statistics (Reference Collection: HF1359 .M333 2003): This collection of economic statistics contains estimates of GNP, population and more for regions around the world from the 1500s to 2001. A bibliography of sources is included. No index.
Web Sites
Accounting, Business Studies and Economics Dictionary: Developed and maintained by the ITS Tutorial School, this online dictionary provides quick definitions of thousands of business, accounting, financial, and economics terms.
EconData: This site contains a searchable database of more than 1,000 sites that provide economic data on a variety of topics. This site primarily focuses on data for the United States.
Game Theory.net's Dictionary of Game Theory Terms: Created by an assistant professor of economics at Vanderbilt University, this online dictionary defines the terms and concepts associated with game theory. The dictionary is part of a larger Web site devoted to game theory.
Great Economists and their Times: Created by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, this page discusses influential economists and economic schools of thought from Adam Smith and the Merchantilists to the present.
INFOMINE: INFOMINE is a special database that searches for Web site and documents that most search engines miss, primarily Web pages and documents on university Web sites. This database is developed and maintained by the Library of the University of California, Riverside.
Librarians' Internet Index: Collected and annotated by librarians, this site contains a searchable database of high quality Web sites. To find a Web site, browse the available topics or use the search box.
WWW Virtual Library: Economics: A joint project by a professor at SUNY Oswego and the Helsinki School of Economics, this two-part Web site contains list of links to economics resources online. Links are organized into useful categories.
