About This Tutorial

For many of you, the material presented in this tutorial will be a review of concepts and topics that have been presented in other classes. As such, this tutorial is designed to do two things:

In Part One, it will provide an of overview academic honesty and dishonesty and the possible consequences of committing acts of academic dishonesty. In Part Two, it will discuss and define plagiarism, and suggest ways to avoid it. Citing sources, quoting, and paraphrasing will be described. The tutorial will also point out places to go on campus for help.
This tutorial is not meant to sound accusatory. Rather, it is meant to raise awareness of plagiarism, cheating, and academic dishonesty.
