Overview
Distance Library services are intended for currently enrolled distance Idaho State University students, faculty, and staff who do not attend classes or work on the Pocatello Campus of ISU. These services are for those whose zip codes are outside a 25 mile radius of Pocatello. These cities are considered local: Aberdeen, American Falls, Blackfoot, Chubbuck, Fort Hall, Inkom, Lava Hot Springs, McCammon, Moreland, Pingree, Pocatello, Rockford, Springfield, and Sterling.
In the past the Oboler Library focused its distance Library services toward the University centers in Boise, Coeur d'Alene, Hailey, Idaho Falls, Lewiston and Twin Falls. Since an increasing number of courses are moving to online with students located everywhere, library delivery must be focused directly to a student not a center. Book delivery to the ISU centers in Idaho Falls and Boise continues to be provided at no charge. In addition, delivery to the University Library Center in Idaho Falls is usually faster than mail delivery because items are couriered daily (Monday - Friday); it also has a fully functional library.

How to get copy of an Article or Book Chapter
The same form is used for both local and distance users. Use the Interlibrary Loan Request Form and follow the instructions. Login and choose Copy of an Article or Copy of a Book Chapter form using the drop-down menu.
Articles are posted to the Web as a PDF file. An email will be sent to your @isu.edu email account with a case-sensitive PIN number to access the article. Access to each document is available for 14 days or for 5 views, whichever occurs first. After that, the document is automatically deleted from the Library's server and you will no longer be able to access it through Web delivery.
If you have problems, contact the Library immediately using the Report a Problem with ILL/Document Delivery Requests form.
If you do not view, save, or print the document during the 14-day window, you will need to request the article again for a $2.00 charge.
