New Student Leadership Coordinator and Team Members

BE a part of changing and enriching the life of a new student at ISU. We are looking for fun, creative and motivated students who have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to serve as great role models for new students. If you are returning as an undergraduate student for the 2013 – 2014 academic year and this sounds like you, we hope you will apply for a great New Student Leadership opportunity. BE a New Student Leadership Coordinator

New Student Leadership Coordinators have the same responsibilities as Team Members, but with increased leadership, event planning/facilitation, and training roles, as well as an increased time commitment during the summer. Coordinators assist in planning and facilitating New Student Orientation and Welcome Week (e.g., educational sessions, activities, and logistics). They also assist in training New Student Leadership Team Members and other student leaders who facilitate small group activities during Orientation and other first year programs and activities. Coordinators also work with Team Members and other ISU programs (e.g., Student Activities Board, Union Program Council, Ambassadors, etc.) to develop, plan, and facilitate first year student events that take place throughout the academic year. BE a New Student Leadership Team Member

New Student Leadership Team Members welcome new first year, transfer, returning/non-traditional, veteran, and international students to Idaho State University and help make the first year of their experience fun and successful. In addition to participating in programs such as Early Registration, Orientation, Welcome Week and first year student events, Team Members also assist in maintaining contact with new students and parents/family during the 2013 – 2014 academic year to provide information about programs & resources, student activities, organizations & involvement opportunities, and more. Team Leaders also provide valuable mentoring and encouragement that are an important part of strengthening the experience of first year students.
