Department Chair Receives Outstanding Physical Therapist Award

Alex Urfer, PhD, PT, chair of the Department of Physical and Occupational Therapy, has been awarded the 2008 J. Perry Silver Award for outstanding achievements and contributions in physical therapy for the state of Idaho. The award recognizes excellence in clinical practice, and dedication to patients, the profession and sharing knowledge with others. The award is named for the late J. Perry Silver, an outstanding physical therapist in Idaho. In nominating Urfer, colleagues said he exemplifies a person who clearly places patients’ needs and the profession above all. He was honored at the Idaho Physical Therapy Association Award Banquet in Boise recently.
