Tina Mladenka, MSN, OGNP, RNC has been an RN for 23 years and a nurse practitioner for 13 years, providing reproductive, gynecologic and perinatal health care services to women. She graduated with a BSN from the University of Texas at Arlington and earned her MSN with a specialty as an Obstetrical and Gynecological Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She has worked in the School of Nursing at Idaho State University for 8 years, teaching and lecturing in classes that focus on women’s health, obstetrical, and reproductive health care. In recent years, she has pursued learning opportunities to broaden her knowledge in genetics and genomics and their impact on health and patient care. Two of these included a summer fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and an online course through Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She seeks opportunities to educate students and health care providers about genetics and genomics in health care and their impact on the roles of health care providers.
