Kasiska College of Health Professions

Message from the Dean

Dr. Stephen Feit, Ph.D.

Welcome From The Dean

We are pleased that you have an interest in health professions and in Idaho State University (ISU). ISU offers the widest array of educational programs in the health professions in Idaho (www.isu.edu/kchp).

The majority of ISU’s professional health programs are housed in the Kasiska College of Health Professions (KCHP). Seventeen separate professions are represented in KCHP, and we offer 33 degree options and certificates. Several of our programs are offered largely on-line. All of our programs are accredited where appropriate, and our graduates are in high demand.

When you enter the Kasiska College of Health Professions at ISU, you become part of a long tradition of excellence and commitment to leadership and service. Our faculty are well-known in their fields and strive to push their students beyond the basic skill sets of their field to become leaders in their communities and professions. Students begin their professional practice in one of a dozen on-campus clinics (www.isu.edu/kchp/clinic/index.shtml). Our alumni serve their communities locally and nationally, touching and transforming lives.

We invite you to become part of our tradition and a high-growth professional career.

Stephen Feit, Ed.D., Interim Dean

Message from the Former Dean

Dean Linda C. Hatzenbuehler, Ph.D.

23 years is a long time to do anything! On June 30, 2009, I completed my 23rd year as Dean of the Kasiska College of Health Professions at ISU, and I have decided that it is time for me to move on. I have watched the college double in its program offerings and become the second largest academic unit on campus. I'm very proud of the college's many accomplishments under my administrative watch.

I've been offered the opportunity to serve the university in the Office of Academic Affairs as Interim Associate Vice President of Health Education. My new position will allow me to continue to help ISU grow its health mission in the state. I will also be looking for opportunities to assure that our existing programs all across campus find synergies that maximize their effectiveness. Dr. Stephen Feit, Chair of our Department of Counseling, has agreed to step in as the Interim Dean of the college while the university conducts a national search for my replacement. I'm confident he will serve the college well.

I look forward to continuing to work with the college from a new vantage point. There is much to do!

Linda C. Hatzenbuehler, Ph.D.
