Health Professions at ISU

Idaho State University (ISU) leads the state in health professions education. The Kasiska College of Health Professions (KCHP) houses the majority of ISU’s health related programs. Seventeen health professions make up the College which offers 33 degrees/options to more than 400 graduates each year.

In the Kasiska College of Health Profession, our students and residents come first. We strive to provide the highest quality of education possible to prepare our graduates for their professions. Beyond the basic skill sets associated with clinical practice we expect our graduates to become leaders in their professions and communities. Doing this requires hiring and retaining the best faculty, using the most current teaching technologies, and giving students access to the learning opportunities that they need for success.

The comprehensive array of professional programs offered on the ISU campus gives our students a rich opportunity to learn, first hand, about their chosen profession as well as the many others available in the college One of the unique opportunities provided to KCHP students is practice and mentoring experience at our 14 in house clinics which schedule 29,000 patient contacts each year. Each of the clinics give students valuable real-life experience in a working environment while being supervised by a credentialed faculty. These clinics include: Audiology, Family Medicine, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dental Hygiene, the Vestibular Clinic, and the Wellness Center. Counseling, Dentistry, and Speech Language Pathology clinics are available on both our Pocatello and Boise campuses. The Senior Health Mobile travels to place bound elderly and provides them with interdisciplinary services. Visit the Clinic Virtual tour to see what you could be doing at ISU.
