IT Services, Network/Internet and Telephone Outage

Idaho Power has identified a critical maintenance activity that must be performed on the electrical equipment servicing the Eli Oboler Library and College of Technology’s Trade and Tech Building.

Saturday, August 9 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM All power in the Eli Oboler Library and College of Technology’s Trade and Tech building  will be shut off for this maintenance procedure. The Eli Oboler Library houses the core of ISU’s network and telecommunications systems.

Impact: The following services will be unavailable: · All IT services (such as e-mail, MyISU, Faculty/Staff Tools, MoodleISU, “Y Drive”, ISU web site, My Calendar, Banner, etc.). · Network, Internet and Internet2 connectivity to and from ISU offices in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Boise and Twin Falls. · Ability to make or receive telephone calls from an ISU telephone (this includes ISU telephones in Boise, Twin Falls and Idaho Falls.

Since all network and telephone communications will be unavailable during this maintenance, ITS will use this outage as an opportunity to install a new uninterruptable power supply system, a precursor to a soon to be installed generator, at ISU’s main data center in the BA building.
