ISU Email Account
All students registered for classes at ISU receive a free email account. Faculty & university departments send email
to your ISU account regularly with pertinent information critical to your academic success. This email account is
available anywhere you have Internet access. Check it on a regular basis. NOTE: A computer account can be purchased
in the Computer Center, which would give you Internet access, use of campus computer labs, and many more services.

Your Email Username and Address
The username for your email account is typically derived from the first four characters of your last name followed by
the first four characters of your first name (Michelle Jones - jonemich). Your email address is the username followed
by "@isu.edu" (e.g. jonemich@isu.edu).

Your Email Password
To view or change the email password originally assigned, take the following steps:
Step 1. Go to ISU's home page at www.isu.edu
Step 2. Select Current Students
Step 3. Click on the icon for the MyISU web portal
Step 4. Enter your Bengal ID # and your PIN #. (Your initial pin is a four-digit number made up of your birth month/year e.g. 0185).
Step 5. Click Login. If you have never accessed MyISU before, you will be prompted to change your pin.
Step 6. Click "Email Access Information" under My Accounts for your username and password
Step 7. Click "Password Change" under Email Access Information to change your email password

Spam Control and Email Filters
The Barracuda Networks Spam Firewall 600 has been installed to control the massive amounts of spam targeting ISU.
The Barracuda Spam Firewall is an integrated hardware and software solution that is placed between the internet and the
ISU mail server in the Computer Center Operations room. It provides a powerful, easy to use solution to eliminate spam
