WebCT: Instructor Procedures

1. Prior to the start of the course (at least two weeks)

  1. Request a WebCT User Name if you don't have one (This only needs to be done once)
  2. Request a WebCT course site (The same course site can be used repeatedly, over subsequent semesters and can include multiple class sections)

2. At the Start of the course

  1. Add students to the WebCT course site using Automatic Student Upload; associate index number for each section (This needs to be done once for each index number)

  1. List the course on the ISU online and supplemental web courses page (This needs to be done once for each index number)

3. At the end of the course

  1. Update the ITRC on the status of any existing course site(s) (At the end of every semester the ITRC needs to be updated as to the future need of the course site)
  2. Remove Index number association from your WebCT course

  1. Backup and reset the course at the end of the semester (Some courses may not need to be reset every semester, please call us with any questions. 282-5880)

Three weeks after the end of the semester, the ITRC removes student and designer access to course sites for which an update has not been received.
