Analyze Create Teach: Plan Course

Step 1: Analyze

The ACT process starts with a series of analytical questions that lead to the selection of a template, and creation of a syllabus for delivery through WebCT. Download the ACT Planning and Syllabus Handout (MS Word format) to begin planning the course.

Step 2: Create

The second step entails the development of activities and media for the course, typically involving a conversion of media to Web format and adaptation of activities for Web delivery.

Step 1: Teach

Teaching is the final step and requires delivering and evaluating instruction and planning for the next course offering.

Evaluation

Evaluation informs the decisions made throughout the process of designing and delivering a course. Each template has a half-way point survey that can be given to students in the middle of the term to assess their satisfaction with the WebCT course space.
